Commissioned in February 1943, the John Rodgers fought in almost every major offensive campaign of the Pacific war, receiving 12 battle stars, and all without losing a single man. She then saw service as ARM Cuitlahuac (E02) in the Mexican Navy from 1970 until 2001, finally bringing to an end the 60-year history of the Fletcher-class.
