The world's largest tire - 80 feet tall and 12 tons - is located in Allen Park, Michigan just east of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The giant tire originally served as a Uniroyal sponsored ferris wheel at the 1964-65 Worlds Fair in NY, NY. Twenty-four gondolas circled the tire carrying nearly two million people.
