The Spanish island, is the easternmost of the Canary Islands, in the Atlantic Ocean ca. 125 km off the coast of Africa as well as 1,000 km from the Iberian Peninsula. In 1730, the island was hit by a volcanic eruption. The eruption created 32 new volcanoes with a stretch of 18 km. You know, everything that appears black is lava !
