The Momart building was used to store works of art between exhibitions, including at least 100 pieces owned by the Saatchi Collection. The building burnt to the ground in the early hours of May 24th, 2004, destroying important works by many contemporary artists including the Chapman brothers, Tracy Emin & the late Helen Chadwick.
