Xizhou Chinese Submarine Base

Xizhou Chinese Submarine Base

I've never found a name for the base I consider to be a proper one, but it's near Xizhou, which seems a good enough name for now. Visible at the base and a nearby older dock are some Kilo, Romeo, and Song class submarines with a few various surface support ships.

There are three Chinese LST craft in a sheltered area near the beaches of Zhujia Jian island.

In addition to the large LST ships, the smaller landing craft can be seen making advances to enter the ramps at the rear of two of the larger ships.

Also, along the shoreline, it's possible to spot where the landings are being conducted, and quite a few vehicles have been ...

Kure Naval Base

Kure Naval Base

This is a set of placemarks for the Japanese naval base at Kure. It includes a few ships at docks not right on the main base but does NOT include the submarine on the move as that has a post of its own. It also does not include the Coast Guard ships nearby as they are in a different post as well.

Many of their ships and submarines are visible including a couple of their large LST...

Ship accident in Korea

Ship accident in Korea

A small ship has overturned out away from the docks. They've already got a crane and oil boom to try and keep the pollutants in place, but it seems to have failed in a small way at least.

Kobe Submarines

Kobe Submarines

Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a shipyard in Kobe, Japan. Their submarine construction is carried out there. Visible right now are some excellent images of their older Harushio class as well as some new Oyashio submarines completing construction. I included a couple of minesweepers set apart from the submarines, just so people spot them.
