Catedral (Cathedral) de la Seo de Urgel (Spain)

Catedral (Cathedral) de la Seo de Urgel (Spain)

This beautiful cathedral is the best and purest example of Spanish Romanesque. Urgel was one of many catalan counties. Until the union of this counties under the Crown of Aragon, Urgel was one of the most important one. The cathedral is a jewell of the Romanesque as it presents the canonic structure and has no influences of another style.(Sorry about terrible English)

Catedral (Cathedral) of Astorga (Spain)

Catedral (Cathedral) of Astorga (Spain)

It surprises visitors that the Spanish province of Leon has two impressive cathedrals: Leon and Astorga, but it is normal as each city has a different bishop. Astorga is a little city, which conserves this fantastic cathedral, constructed in final Gothic style, combined with Spanish Renaissance style. Next to the cathedral, it is the wonderful bishop palace, designed by Antonio Gaudi.

Catedral (Cathedral) de Palma de Mallorca

Catedral (Cathedral) de Palma de Mallorca

This wonderful cathedral is a magnificent example of the ancient Kingdom of Aragon, and it is actually one of the best cathedrals of Spain. Its pinacles, towers and arches are really impressive. This cathedral is the best reason, more important than beaches, to visit the Balearic Islands.

Catedral de Murcia

Catedral de Murcia

The city of Murcia, who was reconquered in the XIII century by the glorious Alfonso X el Sabio, King of Castille and Leon, has a beautiful cathedral. It was constructed too slowly, so it presents many styles. The giant tower and the outside aspect is a jewell of the Spanish Baroque. (Sorry about my deficient English).
