One of the biggest dams in Germany. Destroyed during WWII by British bombers. Built up in 1911-1914 to produce electricity, although three villages were flooded. The ruins can be seen in summer when less water is in the lake.

This is the Sengbach dam, close to Solingen in Germany ("Sengbach Talsperre" or "Solinger Talsperre"). It is one of the oldest water supplying dams in Germany. Nice place to walk at weekends and location for a running event in August (http://www.sengbachlauf.de/).
The Rion Bridge connects the Pelopponissos with the Greek mainland. With a lenght of 2252 Meters it is the world's longest cable-stayed suspended deck. It was opened on May 21, 2004.
