Unusual River Formation in the Amazon

Unusual River Formation in the Amazon

This is an odd formation on the Amazon river, it looks as though the river has started to form a lake in the jungle. The 'lake' is deceivingly big, being 60 x 11 miles approx. The pattern that the water forms in the trees is interesting, somewhat like veins.
