The largest wooden structure in the world is the Woolloomooloo Bay Wharf, Sydney, Australia. Built in 1912, the wharf is 400 m (1,312 ft) long and 63 m (206 ft) wide and stands on 3,600 piles. On the wharf is a hotel complex and a marina.

St Mary's Hospital, Newport (main building.) Commissioned in 1984 to be a low-energy hospital, entirely stainless steel clad. It was as much of an arts project as a hospital with a 'water' theme (hence the lake) leading to a design which looks quite unique on Google Earth.
