Through some serious efforts by NASA/CMU/Google, this file has been created doing basic alignment on all 2000+ images currently available from NOAA. Please note that the imagery it points to are 4Kx4K files (very large) so only download what you really need.
I took NOAA photos and overlapped them...I was trying to create a large overlay but the photos were all taken from different perspectives. I know this is going to be edited so I just wanted to personally thank you for this site.
This is a "closeup" LANDSAT tile of New Orleans. Wasn't able to get coords of the LANDSAT image, so it's eyeball matched. The LANDSAT site lists this image as taken 30 Aug.

Here is a satellite overlay of New Orleans that was taken on August 30, 2005. There are a number of clouds in the picture, but you can see the dark green flooded areas to get an idea of the damage.
A weather satellite overlay that covers the Gulf of Mexico, as well as parts of the southern US. In particular, it gives you a good look at Hurricane Katrina.
