Description: Reeperbahn - The famous Reeperbahn runs the entire length of the world renowned red-light district of St. Pauli between Millerntor in the east and Nobistor in the west. The approximately 600 m long street, which is almost square-like at its eastern end, receives its name Reeperbahn (Low German: Reep=Tau/Seil=rope; Bahn=road) from the fact that here ships rope was twined. There is a tradition of popular entertainment in this area of -Hamburger Berg- which was further developed when in the early 19th century an entertainment district was established that today is almost unique in the world.
