Description: The Satish Dhawan Space Centre, located in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, in India, is the launch centre for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The centre is roughly 100 kilometres north of Chennai in South India.
Originally the site was called the Sriharikota High Altitude Range (SHAR), and became operational in October 1971.
The facility now consists of two launch pads, with the second one being recently built. |
