Description: Between 1947 and 1967 the rocket launch site and Special Weapons Test Centre (CEES), 120km south-west of Coulomb-Bechar, was used for launching sounding rockets, the satellite carrier "Diamond (rocket)" between 1965 and 1967, and the development of ballistic missiles.
On 0l July 1967, the facility was abandoned and turned over to Algeria, as provided in the Evian agreements of March 1962.
