Description: With the borders of Touraine and High Poitou, between the Loire château and the Romanesque art of Poitou, this castle was built at the end of XIVth century by a very strange lanlord Geoffroy le Meingre known as Boucicaut governor of Dauphiné. After being destroyed by arsonning a new castle was built at the same place in 1449. Save from destruction in 1863 by the Picpus congregation , it's now a very fine high class guest hotel. |
