Description: This is all about railroads in the Capital District (Albany area) of New York State, You can "fly" around the area and see the various railroads. Much of this site deals with the "Castleton Cutoff", a huge project in the 1920's that created the giant Selkirk Yard. Stop while "flying" and see the various rail attractions. Historically, the two major railroads in the area were the New York Central and the Delaware & Hudson.
