Description: In the 1964 James Bond movie "Goldfinger", the 'Royal St George Golf Course' (which is really at Sandwich in Kent), where Bond outplays Goldfinger and where Oddjob demonstrates his lethal hat by decapitating a statue, is Stoke Poges Golf Club a couple of miles north of Slough, Buckinghamshire. The clubhouse, Stoke Park House, reappeared in a Bond movie many years later, as the interior of the 'Hamburg' hotel in "Tomorrow Never Dies", and it was where Hugh Grant and Renee Zellweger take a mini-break in "Bridget Jones's Diary". |
