Description: All left is the church of Altenwerder in Hamburg. 1961 the Hamburg Parlament decided to build a new harbour area and it was a take it or leave it. At the end of the 1970th 200 citicens had left Altenwerder and on january 20th 1982 the law was finally made. Some citicens went to court and got right from court but it was too late. The last citicens left 1997.
But the project of the new harbour for thousands of workers was cancelled so far.
In the green area around the church you can still see the remains of houses.
