Description: The Baba Vida castle construction was initiated in the second half of the 10th century over the walls and the tower of the Roman fortress. The principal construction dates from the end of 12th century until the end of the 14th century. Together with the moat, the fortress served as the defence of the town. Today, Baba Vida is a national cultural memorial and tourist attraction. The Baba Vida castle is the only medieval Bulgarian castle entirely preserved. |
