Description: The sport school of the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr)in Warendorf is an agency of the armed forces basis, their order for core is the training of the sport teachers of the Bundeswehr. The sport school was opened on 5 February 1957 in Sonthofen in the Allgaeu and was there resident, until it was shifted 1978 to its current location, in the westfaelische Warendorf. On the area the former military district riding and driving school resulted since the laying of the first stone from the Secretary of Defense at that time, Georg Leber, on 15 November 1974, the "new" sport school of the Bundeswehr. After four years construction period could be accomplished the first training course, in one of the most modern and largest, connected sports sites of Germany. The current training offer covers 38 different training courses, in which up to 3000 sergeants and officers participate annually. The offer is enough from training courses for training supervisors, with acknowledgment by FCB, up to training courses for specialized haven leaders in kinds of sport such as football, hand ball, a swimming and rescue swimming, Ski-alpine and many further. The moreover one regularly world championships of the international military haven federation (CISM) in different kinds of sport take place at the sport school of the German Bundeswehr.
