Description: Obviously the image accuracy is not good at the moment, this spot allows to see a small square field which represents the tumulus of Neuville aux Bois, about 250 meters large.
This place is not the first of such a discovery, but here and around as a good surprise, 8 gallic bodies, one, a woman, carrying jewels. Also a horse bones were found there. Relics seem to date 4th century BC, correspondnig to iron age culture, later stage Tène culture.
This countryside is rich in gallo-roman prints, sometimes visible from sky photographs in the large fields.
Overlay image is dated 2001, too old to discover recent work.
The archaeological excavations were undertaken by french INRAP because of the construction of a new motorway |
