Description: The theaters real name is Theater am Schiffbauerdamm and was build in 1892. 1949 Brecht founded the Berliner Ensemble after returning from swiss exile, and 1954 the ensemble moved to this place. The first play here under Brechts leadership was "Herr Puntila und sein Knecht Matti", but his most famous play "Dreigroschenoper" with the famous song "Mackie Messer" was actually also first shown in this theater in 1928.
Primary it's Brechts plays they perform but also Shakespeare, Ibsen, Kleist and many more.
On the top of the roof is the famous big rotating Berliner Ensemble sign.
Outside the theater is a statue of Brecht sitting on a stool.
