Description: Rome has just two underground lines (so far), so it didn't take much to make this...
This kmz has Lines A (orange) and B (blue). Line C from Pantano (South East of the city) to Piazzale Clodio (North Western area of Rome, close to the stadium) is in the definitive project phase and works will start soon.
Another connection, Line B1, just five stops, from Piazza Bologna to Via della Conca D'Oro, Northern area of the city, will be opened in some years, and the digging phase is in progress. There is a further project for a line crossing the city from Northt-West to South-East (Line D), but it will take long. If you wonder why there are so few lines in my city, comparing to the other European cities, it's not easy to dig tunnels here for geological reasons (Rome's underground sole is a sort of gruyere cheese as there are holes, rivers and even lakes!) and for archeological reasons: as soon as they dig a small hole, it's very likely to find a piece of marble or a small recipient of 2000 years ago! |
