Description: Villarrica Volcano, Chile: High Resolution satellite image (NASA Earth Observatory) of one the most active volcanoes in Chile and South America. This 2847m volcano last erupted in 1984. The city of Pucon sits on the volcano´s base, only 18 km to the NW. The lava can be seen in the crater.
