Description: Documentation has been completed on a new central prison in the United Arab Emirates for 5,000 inmates to replace four existing aging and over-crowded prisons. The new complex has a central core of shared facilities, which incorporates a main gatehouse, medical centre, kitchen and administration building. The complex is subsequently divided into satellite prisons, for men, women, juveniles and immigrants. Each prison operates independently with links back to the Central Core Complex.
