Description: This is the new site of the danish TV DR (Danmarks Radio). It contains 4 areas, area 1 is DR Production, area 2 is DR News, area 3 is Copenhagen Radio and administration, area 4 is the new concert hall. The first broadcasts were sent out 2006 and today everything is sent from here. The studios in Soborg is closed.
The construction became a huge scandal because of low budgets. 1999 when it was planned a buget said 3 mia danish kroners, but 2004 the budget was excessed by 300 mio kroner. All because of a complicated plan how the new concert hall should look like.
2005 the new General Manager of DR announced a plan of reducing the costs of 90 mio kroner by reducing programs produced by DR.
2006 the construction was callculated to be 600 mio kroners more expensive. 2007 a new calculation said 700 mio kroners more expensive.
For that result the General Manager announced a reducing in employees of 300 and also less own produced programs.
2008 a reducing of costs would also go up in 300 mio. kroner.
Maybe the worst example of construction in danish history in modern time.
