Description: "Out of Bounds" was created in 1992 by Los Angeles artist Lloyd Hamrol. It is comprised of seven, ten-foot high independent modular forms representing soccer balls. These forms are scattered throughout Avery Park in a random fashio like balls out of bounds. The enite park becomes the sculpture, with multiple focal points. The sculpture directly related to the ise of the park, which is used for recreational and athletic purposes. Though the immediate reference is to a soccer ball, the concept also acknowledges other forms and structures in the park such as baseball backstops and soccer goals. |
