Description: Many years ago, Greystone was of the finest of the New Jersey facilities for the mentally ill. Situated in a very urbanized area of Morris Plains, Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital once was a clean, beautiful hospital. Whether it be bright sunny day or not- Greystone is living its last days as a dirty, dark place. During the nicer days of the year, you would drive along the roads on the property and see many patients in the fenced in "outside area" of the hospital. Years ago, it was an upbeat place. I can remember as a child driving through and seeing people playing basketball and or checkers through the fence. I always asked my mom why they were locked in the cage and she would just tell me, "They are not well, they forgot how to think like we do."
