Description: Heini-Klopfer-Skiflugschanze is a ski flying arena and the second largest ski jumping hill in the world located near Oberstdorf. It was opened 1950 and rebuild 1973.
The arena is named after the architect of the 1950 arena, Heini Klopfer. It was made of wood. He was also the architect of the Olympic Arena, Dauphine, of the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble.
On these types of arenas the jumpers fly more than 200 meters. On ordinary "only" up around 150 meters. |
