Stuttgart21 - tracks and parks before construction of the Bonatz Main Stati

Description: The overlay shows the tracks, park and waste areas before the beginning of the construction of today's main station. The construction of the tracks between 1907 an 1927 has been accompanied by massiv intrusions in the Schlossgarten park. The Kings Gate, the dairy-farm and the Orangerie, situated between today's plattforms 14 and 16 had to be demolished. In the middle of the park, a wall up to a height of 8 meters had to be constructed. Big parts of the maintenance area and the tracks to Feuerbach have been built on an area which had been designated as urban development areas. Because of the unique chance to rectify this wrong development after 100 years, Stuttgart21 is rightly called a sustainable and ecological project.
