Description: Holmenkollen is a hilly area in the outskirts of Norway's capital Oslo (within the city's area proper). Along with Lillehammer, Holmenkollen serves as a national and World Cup status venue of Nordic skiing, including its famous, eponymous, ski jump arena, as well as venues for cross-country (XC) skiing, Nordic combined (cross-country skiing and ski jumping), and biathlon (cross-country skiing and rifle shooting).

Holmenkollen was part of the arena for the VI Olympic Winter Games in 1952.

Holmenkollen was also the host arena of the 1982 Nordic skiing World Championship, the 1999 Biathlon World Championship, and parts of the 2000 Biathlon World Championship.
