Description: The Bommerlunder inn was located at the Bommerlund Plantation north of Padborg. This is the origin site of the totay german schnapps Bommerlunder.
The story of it is this:
In the mid 18th century a french soldier arrived here sick and tired without money or anything of value. However the landlord, Peter Schwennesen, treated the soldier nice so he gave Peter Schwennesen the recipe of a schnapps which he began to produce 1760.
1863 the production was moved to Sogaard near Tinglev, later to Flensburg and from 2000 it's made in Haselünne in Lower Saxony.
The inn was closed 1900 and demolished, At the place a memorial was errected in 1960 to the 200th anniversary.
