Westwood Standoff

Description: On Thursday, August 13, 2009, Joe Moshe drove onto the property of a federal building in the Westwood part of Los Angeles while being pursued by police. There began a nine-hour stand-off between him and various law enforcement agencies, including the secret service. Despite the fact that law enforcement fired four cannisters of tear gas into the vehicle during the stand-off, Moshe did not exit the vehicle. The stand-off was finally ended when several officers shattered the driver's window with a bean bag, tased Moshe, and extracated him from the vehicle.
