Description: Si Du River Bridge, world highest above ground. The suspension bridge is 1.627 feets / 496 meters high above ground and spans 2.952 feets / 900 meters. The brigde was opened at the 15th of november 2009 and is located in Badong area of Hubei, China. Due to the extreme depth of the canyon below the projected brigde a new technique was used to mount the initial suspension cable. A rocket was fired from one side attached with cable and landed on the other side making it possible to tie the first connection between the anchoring pills of the brigde.
