Description: The National Stadium of Chile (Estado Nacional de Chile) is located in the Ņuņoa municipality of Santiago, Chile. Inaugurated on December 3, 1938 it is Chile's national stadium with a capacity of 66,650.
It was the site of the opening, quarterfinals, a semifinal, and final games of the 1962 World Cup. During the Chilean coup of 1973 it was used as a concentration camp holding 40,000 prisoners. |
