Description: The Palazzo Pubblico, residence of the doges of Genua, was expanded in 1388 and was renamed the Palazzo Ducale. It was magnificently rebuilt in the 16th century. Until recently the palazzo housed courts, but it now functions as Genoa's cultural center.
