On 8th October 2001 two airplanes (a SAS McDonnell Douglas MD-87 and a private Cessna) collided on the runway while the MD-87 just want to take-off an the Cessna want to cross the runway to come on the taxiway. The Cessna was destroyed on the runway, the MD-87 further rolled after the runway in a hall for baggage keeping. A total of 119 people died, 110 in the burning MD-87, 4 in the Cessna and 5 workers of the baggage hall.
