Description: The high-resolution satellite image shows not only Munich’s new football stadium called Allianz Arena but also its very interesting surroundings. Parking facilities are located south of the stadium. Being integrated into a very convincing landscape architecture concept they are almost invisible. Their roof serves at the same time as a cover and as a park with paths leading from the public transport station to the stadium. The Allianz Arena will host the opening game of the 2006 World Cup. It was designed by the Swiss architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron.
The image was collected on 04-July-2005 by IKONOS.
