Description: Chinese astronauts blasted into orbit October 11 from the Jiuquan Space Launch Center. The astronauts aboard the second manned mission for the Chinese will conduct experiments while in orbit.
Space Imaging's IKONOS satellite took this image of the launch complex in northwestern China about 100 kilometers from the city of Jiuquan October 9, 2005. The very tip of the Shenzhou 6 rocket can be seen in the image.
