Google Earth Plug-in: La Motte-d-Usseau castle

Info Map Comments (0) Related Files

With the borders of Touraine and High Poitou, between the Loire château and the Romanesque art of Poitou, this castle was built at the end of XIVth century by a very strange lanlord Geoffroy le Meingre known as Boucicaut governor of Dauphiné. After being destroyed by arsonning a new castle was built at the same place in 1449. Save from destruction in 1863 by the Picpus congregation , it's now a very fine high class guest hotel.
