|The Newport Transporter Bridge spans the River Usk in Newport, South Wales.|
It was built in 1906 and by designed by a French engineer Ferdinand Arnodin
Following a £3 million refurbishment, the bridge reopened in 1995 and continues to operate today.
It can carry 6 cars and 120 passengers.
The height of the towers is 74 metres and the height of the horizontal beam above the water is 54 metres.
The ferry platform, travels the 181 metres between the towers at 3 metres per second.
