|These 74 tropical islands area located in Queensland Australia next to the beautiful Whitsunday Coast. Their waterways make up part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.Through-out the islands you can find rainforest, coral reefs, aboriginal cave paintings, some of the best sailing grounds in the world and of course the spectacular Whitehaven beach.|
Although there are some lovelly resorts on the island and mainland, 70 of the 74 island are national parks.
The mainland is also rather picturesque with rainforests, mangroves, sugarcane fields and national parks. The rivers and creeks in the area have platypus, barramundi, huge mudcrabs and the largest concentration of crocodiles on the Australian eastern seaboard.
The small resort town of Airlie Beach is also located here. It is becoming one of Australias favourite tourist spots but is still small and friendly. The growth of the area presents great opportunities for property investors (Including recently, Ivana Trump). Here you can also catch boats and tours to the islands and Outer Barrier Reef.
