Lockheed Martin's SLICE« technology is a patented hull design that enables Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) ships to operate in high sea states at higher speeds without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
The key to this innovation is reduction of wave-making drag, which is accomplished by the introduction of four teardrop-shaped submerged hulls supported by short struts. This configuration allows for speeds well beyond those achieved by more conventional SWATH ships.
* Superior sea keeping ability
* High speed
* Fuel efficiency
* Low wake wash
Ship operators require small, affordable ships that perform consistently at high speeds in high seas. SLICE« technology fulfills these requirements. This has been proven by the Sea SLICE« prototype. Since her introduction to her new homeport in San Diego, she has been used to demonstrate modularity for military applications, comfort for personnel transport operations, and superior handling for port operations. At just 105-feet long and 52-feet wide, SEA SLICE« has been used by a variety of customers for a variety of uses.
* Patrol/drug interdiction
* Search and rescue
* Oceanographic and hydrographic research
* Missile/satellite tracking
* Pilot boat
* Cargo transport
* Offshore support and transportation
* Ferry Services
* Yachting and excursion vessels
