Situated on the banks of Allier river, at the very edge of Berry and nearby Bourbonnais, this attractive village is listed as one of 'France's Most Beautiful Villages'.
Built in the Middle Ages, the castle was completely transformed at the Rebirth from a military fortress into a much more pleasant mansion.
The village downside the hill has been totally rebuilt in a pure Berry style in 1930 by order of french industrial tycoon Lucien Schneider from Le Creusot. It now invites you to stroll along its narrow lanes and admire their many artists' workshops. Its elegant floral gardens can also be visited
