Virtual Earth map of The Iron age village near Odense

Info Map Comments (0) Related Files

The iron Age Village is a collection of reconstructed houses built on the basis of archaeological discoveries from Jutland and Fyn dating from around 200 B.C. to 400 A.D.

The village is a historical workshop giving an opportunity to link theory and practice together to see how the people of the Iron Age probably lived. The Iron Age houses are set up as active workshops for old handicrafts using reconstructed tools.

Around the village there are also pens for sheep, goats, geese and hens, part of the day to day life of the village.

The Iron Age Village is set in the lovely area of the Stavis valley. By the river there is a bonfire site with tables and benches which can be used at any time.
