This is the poet Jeppe Aakjaer’s and his wife, the carver, Nanna Aakjaer’s former home. The main building was erected 1906 – 1907. The name Jenle means “lonely”, which was significant for the location of the farm at that time.
A considerable part of the poet’s production was created in his study on the first floor with a view of the inlet. In the former farm buildings, you will find changing exhibitions and you are allowed to eat your own food indoors.

In summer, Jenle is open daily for visitors from 11 a.m. – 4.15 p.m. Guided tours every whole and half hour.
Outside the season, it is open according to arrangement.

Jeppe and Nanna Aakjaer are buried in the thicket Jenle Krat. All the year around you can take a beautiful walk through the woods to the beach at the inlet Astrup vig.
