|Brovold at todays Augustenborg was build at the end of the Viking aera. It was mostly cattles they sold here, but also craftsmen and other traders came here.|
It was build up as the viking city Haitabu near Schleswig, Germany.
It was given up by order by the Danish King (Canute VI or Valdemar II Sejr) between 1180 to 1220 and moved to a new place at a newly build fort and castle, todays Sonderborg.
