In 1795 Donald McInnis discovered an artificial circular depression on the south eastern end of the island with an adjacent tree which had a tackle block on one of its overhanging branches. McInnis and 2 friends excavated the depression and discovered a layer of flagstones. As they continued digging, they found a layer of flagstones every 3 m (10 ft). They stopped digging at 10 m (30 ft). ...
