The Hanging Gardens of Babylon rises on terraces some 400 feet above the level of the plain. This hanging gardens were built by Nebuchadnezzar about 600 B.C. to console his queen, who missed the mountains, trees and flowers of her native Media.
The 26-acre Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark marks the water park chain's third Texas location (the original is in New Braunfels, and a second park is in South Padre Island). It is also among the industry's first to include a retractable roof, which allows the park to remain open year-round by converting into an indoor water park during cold or inclement weather.
