Tocks Island, Delaware River

Tocks Island, Delaware River

Tocks Island sits in the Delaware River slightly on the NJ side. The Delaware was supposed to be dammed to create a power source. The dam was supposed to run about 40 miles north to port Jervis, NY. Extreme opposition was given to the Army Corp of Engineering and the project was halted, but not before thousands of people were evicted from 'right of way' and their homes demolished. The land land...

Block Island, RI

Block Island, RI

In the roll call of New England islands, Block Island sometimes gets lost in the wake of, say, Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. But this 7-mile-long isle off the Rhode Island coast is an unpretentious mix of wildlife preserves, old Victorian hotels and weathered gray houses, stone walls and inland moors, nature trails and freshwater ponds, and windswep...

Possible LOST Crash Sites

Possible LOST Crash Sites

A very detailed composite of possible flight 815 crash sites, with explanations based off of actual LOST episodes. This is better then the other "Possible Lost Crash Sites" file because it provides much more specific locations and actually provides an explanation for those areas.

Cockatoo Island

Cockatoo Island

Cockatoo Island is an island in Sydney Harbour, Sydney, Australia. The island was originally used as a prison and later developed as a shipyard. Many naval ships were built and maintained at Cockatoo Island Dockyard. The shipyard was closed during the 1980s. In late March 2005 the island was re-opened to the public for the Cockatoo Island Festival, after two and a half years of planning.

Bouvet Island

Bouvet Island

Also known as Bouvetoya Island, this island was in the movie AvP as the site of the Predator's pyramid. The location in the movie (according to their satellite images) of the island is incorrect. I'm working on another image overlay for their island location.

Pitcairn Island - Overlay

Pitcairn Island - Overlay

The island shown here is Pitcairn Island, the island on which the sailors from the British ship HMS Bounty settled after their mutiny in 1790. High cliffs surround most of the island, making access difficult—likely a primary reason the mutineers chose Pitcairn. The center of the island is green, covered with a dense forest. The island’s only inhabitants (descendants of the Bounty mutineers and ...
