But the Beach named MAYA BAY located on the Island Koh Pee Pee Lae in Thailand, isn't completly surrounded by rocks like in the movie. The illusion was created by adding on giant rock with CGI. Many naval ships were built and maintained at Cockatoo Island Dockyard. The shipyard was closed during the 1980s.
